Class A RV Repairs

RV Roof & Collision Repair

Roof leaks • Membrane damage • Hail and storm • Collision damage • Fiberglass and panel repair

Class A RV Repairs handles both sides of exterior damage: roof leaks and membrane wear that build up over seasons, and collision damage that happens in a second. We inspect in person, document with photos, and give you a free written estimate. For accident, hail, and storm damage we work directly with your insurance adjuster.

Written estimate before any work starts. No surprise charges.

Signs & Symptoms

How do you know if your RV needs roof or collision repair?

Roof damage builds up quietly across seasons. Collision damage announces itself. Both end in the same place once the shell is no longer sealed, and water gets into the structure.

Roof

Soft or spongy spots, cracked or bubbling membrane, or dried out seals

Roof

Water stains inside or a musty smell, usually near a seam or vent

Collision

Dents, cracked fiberglass or siding, or misaligned panels

Collision

paint damage, or a panel that no longer sits flush after an impact

Three of the four signs above land on the "call a specialist" end of the scale — that's not a coincidence.

Repair Process

The Repair Process, Including Insurance Claims

The same order every time, so you know the scope and the cost before anything is touched.

Inspect and check for moisture

We check the damage in person and look for moisture in the surrounding structure, because leaks travel and impact damage extends past the visible dent.

Photo documentation

We photograph the damage the way insurance adjusters expect it, which is most of what makes a claim go smoothly.

Written estimate

Itemized, covering parts, labor, and finish work. Nothing begins until you approve it.

Roof work

Resealing seams, vents, and edges, patching membrane, or replacing a section, depending on how far the damage has spread.

Collision and panel work

Pulling and filling dents, repairing or replacing fiberglass and siding panels, then matching the finish and resealing every seam we opened.

Insurance claims

For collision, hail, and storm damage we work directly with your adjuster and supply the photos and written estimate a claim needs. Roof wear and tear coverage depends on your policy, so ask your insurer upfront.

Before drop off, clear belongings from under the affected area and bring your claim number if a claim is already open.

Pricing

What RV Roof and Collision Repair Costs

Cost tracks the type and extent of the damage, and roof and collision work sit at very different points on that scale.

Roof reseal and minor leak repair

Resealing seams, vents, and edges, plus small membrane patches.

Membrane repair or section replacement

Larger patching through to replacing a section of roof membrane.

Collision panel repair

Dent work, fiberglass or siding repair, and paint or gelcoat matching.

Multi panel collision, hail, or storm damage

Larger damage, usually routed through an insurance claim.

We do not quote roof or collision work over the phone. Both are routinely larger than they look from the ground, so the estimate is free and in person.

RV Body Shop Specialists Since 1993

About Class A RV Repairs

Regular auto body shops are not set up for RVs. A car is a steel unibody. An RV is a membrane roof over framing, with fiberglass or aluminum panels and sealant holding the envelope together, so it takes different methods, different color matching, and a taller bay. Class A RV Repairs works on motorhomes and travel trailers in the Texas Hill Country, and we say plainly what we do not take on.

Kerrville, TX — 2 months ago

Hail damage across the entire roof and upper panels of our Class A. They photo-documented everything, handled all the insurance paperwork, and did the body work in-house. The color match on the replaced sections is indistinguishable from the original. Best body shop experience we've had for an RV, period.

Brought our travel trailer in for rust on the lower panel and a cracked fiberglass section near the door. They found hidden moisture under the rust — addressed that first, then did the panel repair and color-match. Written estimate matched the final bill exactly. Zero surprises, excellent work.

Side panel delamination and some dents from a tree branch impact. They repaired the delamination properly — addressed the moisture underneath first — and fixed the dents with a color-matched finish. Called upfront about what was in scope and what wasn't. That kind of honesty is rare and worth the drive to Pipe Creek.

Common Questions

RV Roof and Collision Repair FAQ

For roof issues: soft or spongy spots, cracked or bubbling membrane, water stains inside, a musty smell, or dried out seals. For collision damage: visible dents, cracked fiberglass or siding, misaligned panels, or paint damage after an impact. Either should be inspected before it leads to water intrusion or further structural wear.

Small sealant touch ups or minor cosmetic scratches can sometimes be handled with a DIY kit. Active leaks, structural panel damage, or collision damage affecting structural components should go to a specialist. We are not certified structural frame welders, so major frame straightening is referred out and we do minor tack welds only.

Cost varies by damage type and size. A small roof sealant repair costs far less than collision repair involving panel replacement and paint matching. Class A RV Repairs gives a free itemized estimate after inspecting the RV in person, so you know the cost before work begins.

We start with an inspection and a written estimate, documenting damage with photos. For collision, hail, or storm damage we work directly with insurance adjusters and provide the documentation a claim needs. For roof wear and tear, coverage depends on your policy, so ask upfront and we can coordinate with your insurer.

Look for a shop that specializes in RV body and roof work rather than general auto collision repair, ask whether they document damage in a way insurance adjusters accept, and confirm what they will and will not take on, for example certified frame welding. Class A RV Repairs handles RV roof, collision, fiberglass, and paint repair.
