Signs & Symptoms

Motorhome body and paint work, and why it's different

What we handle

Fiberglass panel repair, cracks, dents, and impact damage. Delamination where the outer skin has separated from the substrate. Full exterior paint, color matching, and decal work. Panel replacement where repair is not the right call. This page covers non-accident body and paint work. Impact damage from a collision and insurance claims are handled on the Motorhome Collision Repair page.

Why it's not the same as an auto body shop

Size is the first barrier. Most auto bays cannot physically take a Class A motorhome that runs forty feet long and twelve feet tall. The second difference is material: motorhome exteriors are fiberglass, filon, and composite sidewalls over a framed structure, not stamped steel. They are repaired and refinished differently. Color-matching large RV panels and full-body graphics is a distinct skill from auto body work. Class A RV Repairs works exclusively on motorhomes and travel trailers.

Cost, Insurance, and What to Ask

An inspection tells you which category you're in

Cost scales with panel area, whether structure behind the skin is involved, and how much refinishing and color-matching the repair needs. A scuffed panel and a rebuilt sidewall are not in the same range. Class A RV Repairs gives you a written, itemized estimate before any work begins. No figures are published here without client confirmation.

Damage is photographed and documented on arrival. You receive a written itemized estimate that works for your insurance claim. The shop coordinates with your adjuster directly, including on supplemental damage found once panels come off, which is common on RV body work. You choose the shop that repairs your motorhome; the insurer does not.

What to ask before you choose a shop

Ask whether the shop works on RVs specifically rather than cars, whether it has the bay height and length to take a Class A, whether it handles fiberglass and composite panel work in-house, and whether it deals with insurance adjusters directly. Ask for the turnaround estimate in writing before you commit.

About Class A RV Repairs

Class A RV Repairs has worked exclusively on RVs for over 30 years. Our technicians handle body, panel, fiberglass, gelcoat, and paint repair for motorhomes and travel trailers in the Texas Hill Country, not general auto body work that happens to include the occasional RV. We find what is underneath before we close it up, because a repair that does not address the root cause does not stay repaired.

1993 — Founded in Pipe Creek, TX

Family-owned RV body repair and maintenance. All RV types, all body damage categories.

2000s — Full Body, Paint & Insurance Services Added

Expanded to full color-matched refinishing, delamination repair, and direct insurance claim coordination.

Today — 120+ Reviews, 4.9 Stars

Serving the Texas Hill Country — Kerrville, Boerne, Bandera, San Antonio, Austin, and beyond.

Why Class A RV Repairs for Motorhome Body Work

Class A RV Repairs is an RV-only shop. That is not a marketing claim; it is a practical one. The paint booth is sized for a full-length Class A. The technicians are trained on RV-specific construction. The parts sourcing covers motorhome-specific panels and components that a general auto shop cannot easily get.

Body work on a motorhome requires assessing what is behind the outer skin before starting cosmetic repairs. A panel that looks like a surface repair can have delaminated substrate or bent framing behind it. Class A RV Repairs assesses the full extent before any quote is written.

What Customers Say About Our Body Shop Repair

Craig & Patricia W.

Kerrville, TX — 2 months ago

Hail damage across the entire roof and upper panels of our Class A. They photo-documented everything, handled all the insurance paperwork, and did the body work in-house. The color match on the replaced sections is indistinguishable from the original. Best body shop experience we've had for an RV, period.

Boerne, TX — 3 months ago

Brought our travel trailer in for rust on the lower panel and a cracked fiberglass section near the door. They found hidden moisture under the rust — addressed that first, then did the panel repair and color-match. Written estimate matched the final bill exactly. Zero surprises, excellent work.

GO

Gary & Diane O.

Bandera, TX — 1 month ago

Side panel delamination and some dents from a tree branch impact. They repaired the delamination properly — addressed the moisture underneath first — and fixed the dents with a color-matched finish. Called upfront about what was in scope and what wasn't. That kind of honesty is rare and worth the drive to Pipe Creek.

Yes. Fiberglass panel repair, cracks, and dents are core motorhome body work. Damage where the outer skin has separated from the substrate is repaired differently from surface damage, so it is assessed first, as repairing over a delaminated section will not hold.
